Personal Values s Case Many may argue that demography and social background may not affect a juror’s moral judgement. However, there are instances where jurors are heavily influenced by their backgrounds and what they perceive as morally right. While the judges may not be swayed by emotions during a judicial process, there is a higher chance of a juror being led by emotions which may cloud his or her judgment. This may be due to the fact that judges do this type of work everyday and have vast experience in the field.

Jurors on the other hand participate in this process rarely and may not be able to make sound judgment. It will be hard for John to make the right decision because he is a father of two children. He will be filled with empathy for the affected parents and will more than likely find the accused guilty as a way of compensation for the parents. He will put himself into the parents’ shoes and assume that he has lost a child. This will automatically cloud his judgment and he will conclude the criminal is guilty even when he/she is not.

Case 2The following are thee major differences between civil and criminal court proceedings:I. Civil suits involve private disputing parties, for example two business persons who are in conflict due to a breached contract; while Criminal suits involve criminal activities that are considered harmful to the society, case in point, murder.II. In Civil cases, a Plaintiff sues the Defendant for damages and may ask for compensation from the other party. On the other hand, Criminal cases involve a formal document for the accused known as an Indictment.

The victims are not involved in taking the matters to court, the government shoulders this burden for them.III. Criminal cases are carried out in the States Attorney’s Offices while Civil suits are done in Federal Courts. These are the key differences between the two suits as they spell out their functions, their locations and the parties involved.References1.
