April 28, Introduction The Ron Sim leadership focuses on achieving prescribed goals and objectives. Ron Sim implements several leadership styles. The leadership style focuses on the management strategies and marketing strategies of the Ron Sim’s health products. There are two major leadership styles under study. The first leadership style is transactional leadership. The second leadership style is transformational leadership. The research focuses on determining Ron Sim’s most dominant leadership style. The research delves on the Ron Sim’s different leadership traits. Similarly, the research includes other effective leaders who exhibited similar Ron Sim leadership traits. Ron Sim’s leadership traits indicate Ron Sim’s Transformational leadership style. 1. Characteristics of Ron Sim Leadership Ron Sim implements the characteristics of the democratic leadership style (Daft, 2014). Under this style, Sim allows the subordinates to contribute their share to achieving the company’s goals and objectives. As democratic leader, Sim leads by example. Sim requires everyone to do their share to implement the resourceful, resilient, and rebuild (three R’s) company policies. Consequently, each line and staff employee is required contribute their own unique or diverse share to the implementation of the company’s resourceful, rebuild, and resilient policies. Leading by example, Sim shows each line and staff employee must be sincere, have integrity, and candor in their dealings with current and future customers (Daft, 2014). Sim inspires the line and staff employees to act reasonably and comply with all ethical and moral principles. Lastly, Sim’s democratic leadership style impresses on the line and staff employees to freely and enthusiastically contribute their unique share. Leading by example, Sim inspires the line and staff employees and current and future customers to freely prioritize living a healthy lifestyle. Further, Sim’s leadership style is classified as transformational. Under this type of leadership (Coates, 2011), Sim leads by example to try to convince his line and staff employees and current and future customers to transform their current lifestyle and work ethics to a more health-conscious lifestyle. The health conscious life means avoiding any acts that my trigger unhealthy effects. Seeing Sim avoiding smoking, intoxicating liquor and excessive sweets, the line and staff employees are persuaded to imitate Sim’s healthy lifestyle acts. In addition, living a healthy lifestyle means avoiding certain unhealthy acts. One unhealthy act is drunkenness. Another unhealthy act is smoking. A third unhealthy act is eating excessively fatty or salty food alternatives. Fatty and salty foods lead to hypertension and possibly heart attacks. Excessive sweet foods should be avoided. Eating excessive sweet products may trigger diabetes (Gardiner, 2010). 2. Ron Sim possesses sources of power and influence in the application of his leadership role. Ron Sim uses legitimate power as employer to lead his line and staff employees to implement Sim’s instructions. The line and staff employees are required to obey Sim’s instructions. Failure to comply may result to the employees’ being charged for insubordination. Consequently, the employees who are found guilty of insubordination are terminated (Marshall, 2010). Moreover, Sim uses expert power as employer to lead his line and staff employees to implement Sim’s instructions. Having researched the effects of his health products, Sim has become an expert on the beneficial effects of the Sim products. Consequently, line and staff employees and current and future customers can rely on Sim’s expert advice on the many benefits of the Sim products. Consequently, Sim’s health advice to prioritize a change to the healthy lifestyle by consuming the beneficial effects of the Sim products is easily liked or accepted by the current and future customer and line and staff employees (Marshall, 2010). Further, Sim uses product reward power to lead his line and staff employees to implement Sim’s instructions. Sim offers the rewards for using Sim’s products. The line and staff employees will receive the reward of a longer healthy life by implementing Sim’s advice to consume the Sim products. Likewise, the current and future customers will purchase the Sim products because they will expect to receive their expected reward. The reward is an improved healthy body. With the improved healthy body, the current and future customers can live longer and more fruitful lives (Marshall, 2010). Furthermore, Ron Sim possesses influences of power in the application of his leadership role. Sim’s treating the line and staff employees as human beings influences the employees to implement Sim’s instructions. Similarly, Sim’s treating the current and future customers as human beings influences the customers to purchase Sim’s products (Marshall, 2010). Further, Sim’s showing the health benefits of using the Sim products influences the line and staff employees to sell the Sim products. Consequently, the employees eagerly sell the Sim products are accepting Sim’s expert explanation that the Sim customers will receive more than their money’s worth of Sim products. Similarly, the Sim expert explanation that the Sim customers will receive more than their money’s worth of Sim products will influence the current and future customers to eagerly acquire the Sim health products (Marshall, 2010). Moreover, Sim’s respect for the opinions of others influences the customers to buy the Sim products. Sim continually introduces new products to the market. The new products cater to the changing product needs of the current and future customers. The new products take into account the current and future customers’ comments, suggestions, complaints, and recommendations of the customers. The new products normally resolve the prior customers’ complaints and adhere to the recommendations of the current and future customers. Consequently, the customers are eager to accept the newly introduced customer-inspired Sim health products (Marshall, 2010). 3. Leadership Traits of Ron Sim and other Leaders Ron Sim possesses effective leadership traits. First, Sim has the intelligence leadership trait to harness the people to sell his products. Similarly, Sim has the intelligence to sell products that cater to the needs of the current and future customers. Sim’s using himself as an expert example, the current and future customers are convinced that the Sim products are beneficial to health and future of the current and future clients (Bass, 2009). Further, Ron Sim has the decisiveness leadership trait. Sim does not wait for other competitors to fill the current and future customers’ health product needs. Sim does not join the bandwagon of previously successful companies to generate revenues. Instead, Sim decisiveness introduces several new products. The new products are constantly innovated to creatively cater to the current and future customers’ changing needs and wants. Sim decisively enters uncharted market segments to introduce new products that will fill the prospective market segments’ health product demands (Bass, 2009). Furthermore, Ron Sim has the knowledge leadership trait. Sim is an expert in the Sim products’ advantages. Sim is able to explain the many Sim product benefits to his line and staff employees. Similarly, Sim can easily espouse the health effects of the Sim products to the curious and eagerly anticipating current and future customers. Sim can boldly and convincingly explain the health benefits of each Sim product to the new and current clients (Bass, 2009). In addition, Ron Sim has the technical ability to come up with a very saleable product. Ron Sim was able to create a product that perfectly fills the current and future customers’ product needs and wants. First, Ron Sim experiments with the new products. Sim uses the products himself. After confirming that the new products contributed to the maintenance of Ron Sim’s health, Ron Sim convinces his line and staff employees to sell the products’ benefits to the global market segments. For many years, the current and future customers continue to trust and benefit from the different health-based products of the Sim Company (Bass, 2009). Moreover, Ron Sim has the extrovert social competency to generate a high demand for the Sim products. Sim uses tact to convince his line and staff employees to sell the countless benefits of the Sim products. Similarly, Sim uses technical terms that current and future customers prefer to hear and are culturally accustomed to hear in order to create a continuing demand for the Sim products. Sim does not use words that my hurt or anger the culture and beliefs of the target markets’ customers (Bass, 2009). Besides, Ron Sim has the assertiveness leadership trait. The trait easily persuades the doubtful current and future customers to purchase the many benefits of the Sim products. The trait easily rallies the line and staff employees to do their share to increase the customers’ demand for the company’s products and services. Being assertive, the global demand for the Sim products continues to increase (Bass, 2009). Lastly, Ron Sim has emotional competence traits. The traits allow Sim to peg the selling prices of the Sim products to fit the budget of the current and future customers. The products are sold at different prices and sizes. The budget-conscious or poor customers can purchase the lower cost or the smaller size Sim products. The marketing strategy of the Sim products includes boosting the self-confidence and self-esteem of the current and future Sim health products’ customers (Bass, 2009). Further, other leaders have the leadership traits of Ron Sim. Bill Gates had the intelligence to create the Microsoft Products. Warren Buffet had the emotional intelligence to cooperate with different entities and individuals to generate his millions (Lussier, 2012). The Wright brothers were the first pilots to fly the airplane, entering into the uncharted new area of air flight. Amelia Earhart was the first female pilot who dared to travel around the world and paid for it with her life. Lee Iacocca and Avon Cosmetics’ founder Andrea Jung, Bill Marriott successfully set up companies in new market segments. Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison created products in uncharted environments, paving the way for others to continue charting new paths and innovatively creative inventions to improve the average person’s life (Bethel, 2009). 4. Ron Sim’s Transformational Leadership Ron Sim is more of a transformational leader compared to being a transactional leader (Bass, 2009). The transactional leader focuses on rewarding the employees for a job well done. If the employees surpass their prescribed benchmark, the employees may receive bonuses, salary increases, and citations. For showing high quality work, some employees are promoted to the next higher rank. The case study does not show that Ron Sim implemented the above reward –relating activities. Consequently, the Ron Sim leadership does not prioritize the transactional leadership ship. Instead, the Sim management sets benchmarks for all employees to implement. The case study shows that the employees must reach their prescribed quota or minimum outputs. Moreover, Ron Sim leadership implements the transformational leadership (Lussier, 2012). Transformational leadership focuses on motivation. Sim motivated his line and staff employees to sell the countless benefits of the Sim health products. The Sim leadership focused on creating an identity that the current and future customers will enjoy a healthy body and mind. With a feeling of having a healthy body, the current and future customers radiate a feeling of satisfaction. Further, Sim uses himself as a role healthy person model to the line and staff employees and current and future customers. Ron Sim offers the morale boosting products to the current and future Sim health products’ customers. Consequently, the increasing global demand for the Sim health products is proof of Ron Sim’s effectively engineered transformational leadership. Many users of the Sim health products feel they get their money’s worth of products. Some feel cheerful after benefiting from the health benefits. Others are persuaded to buy more Sim products to replace their rapidly depleting current acquired Sim products (Lussier, 2012). Conclusion The Ron Sim leadership prioritizes accomplishing established goals and objectives. Ron Sim’s leadership style incorporates the management strategies and marketing strategies to increase the global demand for the Ron Sim’s health products. The first leadership style is transactional leadership is not dominant in the Ron Sim leadership. The transformational leadership is very evident in the Ron Sim leadership. Ron Sim exhibits many globally effective leadership traits. Similarly, the research shows other successful leaders implement similar Ron Sim leadership traits.
